Psychology is the study of human minds and behaviors. It has proved to be effective in the field of health and this paved way for the concept called clinical psychology. In the health industry, it is very important for the physicians and nurses to take care of the mental conditions and the emotions of the patients before going for an outright treatment. Therefore, many clinical practitioners have implemented the clinical psychology concept in their practice. There are four fundamental approaches to clinical psychology.
What is Clinical Psychology?
It is a branch of psychology, which helps the practitioners to understand, prevent and relieve the stress levels and mental disorders of their patient. The clinical psychologists make use of some scientific principles, scientific theories and their clinical knowledge to achieve their basic objective. The basic aim is to assess and treat the psychological conditions of their patients. As I said before, there are four basic approaches to the branch of clinical psychology. These four major approaches are in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and family systems. If you can understand the goals and objectives of these approaches, it will prove to be effective in treatment.

There is a general controversy among the psychological experts, regarding the subject nature of clinical psychology. Some psychologists consider the subject as an art subject, whereas another group of experts treats it as a science subject. The interesting factor about the branch of clinical psychology is that it encompasses a pyramid of treatment approaches and activities. The branch has attained at most importance in the individualized and holistic treatment. There is no clear-cut connection between philosophy and psychology. But the influence of philosophy on Psychology can be seen on the clinical psychology approaches like psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and family system.

started with the very first Psychodynamic approach.
Psychodynamic Approach
This approach of clinical psychology got its life breath from the works of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. Here we can see a close relationship between psychology and philosophy. It is mainly due to its inspiration from the works of Carl Jung who deals with philosophy as the nature of his work. You can also see the closeness with philosophy from the analysis of dreams, transference, and insightful resistance used to understand the human emotions, feelings and other unconscious dreams. It is a more systematic approach when compared with other approaches.
